TVMDC Sailing & Marine Navigation Calculator 4.0

This application provides a straightforward and accessible tool for marine navigation, particularly suitable for sailors and navigators who are in the process of learning how to interpret nautical charts.

The TVMDC App offers three core functionalities:

• Immediate conversions between True, Magnetic, and Compass bearings using TVMDC corrections.
• Set and Drift calculations derived from two known positional fixes.
• Calculation of the "Course to Steer" (CTS) toward a designated waypoint, incorporating both TVMDC and Set & Drift adjustments.

The interface allows quick switching between True, Magnetic, and Compass bearings. It functions as a comprehensive TVMDC calculator—factoring in Variation, Annual Magnetic Variation Drift, Deviation, and environmental Set & Drift influences.

Designed especially for sailors mastering chart navigation, it simplifies the input process: users enter relevant data from the nearest chart’s Compass Rose—such as Variation and its annual change, along with the boat’s Deviation from the compass. The calculator instantly performs the necessary conversions between bearings.

By entering two fixes along with the vessel’s heading and speed through the water, users can calculate "Set and Drift" values. Upon pressing calculate, the app displays these results graphically via a sailing triangle.

All headings and bearings are automatically corrected for Magnetic Variation and Deviation.

Additional inputs such as Destination allow the app to recommend an optimal Course to Steer, integrating TVMDC corrections with Set & Drift considerations for precise navigation planning.
